The Problem
International Market Expansion
VALR needed to expand into international markets, particularly the Chinese-speaking market, but lacked proper localization. The platform required comprehensive language translation to make the trading platform accessible to non-English speakers while maintaining technical accuracy for financial and cryptocurrency terminology.

Approach & Execution
Working with Cogney, we implemented an SEO strategy focusing on three areas: translation content preparation, image optimization, and technical SEO improvements.
Translation Content Preparation
Converted user-facing content, navigation, and messaging into structured JSON files for translation. This enabled a separate team to implement Chinese translation. We identified financial and cryptocurrency terminology requiring precise translation for accuracy and compliance. The structure maintained VALR's brand voice while enabling cultural adaptation.
Image Optimization
Optimized images across the site for performance and SEO. This included compressing images, responsive techniques, and descriptive alt text for accessibility and SEO. This improved page load times while maintaining visual quality.
SEO Technical Improvements
Implemented SEO optimizations including meta tags, structured data, heading hierarchies, and keyword optimization. These improvements were integrated into the React frontend seamlessly.
